ABLE Savings Plans Now Available to Floridians
July 13, 2016
Intuition ABLE Solutions (IAS) has partnered with the Florida Prepaid College Board to launch the state’s ABLE United program, one of the first ABLE savings plans in the nation. The ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) Act, passed by Congress in December 2014, amends the existing IRS section 529 tax code that currently provides tax benefits for qualified college savings accounts.
ABLE United allows Floridians with disabilities to save and invest tax-free, with no impact to theirfor federal benefits. Senate President Andy Gardiner, Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto, and House Representative Ray Rodrigues championed the bill in their state to help qualified Florida residents improve their health, independence, and quality of life.
Intuition ABLE Solutions is part of a family of companies with over 25 years of experience in the 529 College Savings industry, including Records Administrator for the Florida Prepaid College Program and the Florida 529 Savings Program. Backed by this expertise, IAS is quickly establishing itself as the industry leader in ABLE savings plan program management. “This launch is the result of a year of extensive planning, outreach, training and development,” said Maria Padin, Program Manager of IAS. “We are proud and honored to support the Florida Prepaid College Board.”
